Botetourt County Board of Supervisors August 25th Meeting Agenda Preview

The Botetourt County Board of Supervisors will have their regularly scheduled public meeting on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Botetourt County Administration Center, 57 S. Center Drive, Daleville, VA 24083. A Public Hearing will follow at 6 PM. 

The Botetourt County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday, August 25, with a closed session beginning at 12:30 p.m. followed by the 2:00 p.m. public meeting at the Botetourt County Administration Center, 57 South Center Drive, Daleville. The Board will also hold two public hearings beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Several items on this month's agenda focus on transportation, water infrastructure, land use, economic development and County operations.

2:00 p.m. Meeting Agenda

International Overdose Awareness Day Proclamation
The Board will consider a proclamation recognizing August 31, 2026, as International Overdose Awareness Day in Botetourt County.

Budget Amendment Public Hearing — 2:15 p.m.
The Board will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to the County budget.

VDOT Monthly Update — 2:30 p.m.
VDOT will provide its regular monthly update to the Board.

Law Office & Hotel Update — 3:00 p.m.
Representatives from Hill Studio and Evans will provide an update concerning the law office and hotel.

RVARC Water Study Update — 3:30 p.m.
Jeremy Holmes will provide an update on the Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission's water study.

Land Use Growth Boundary Tool
County staff will present the Land Use Growth Boundary Tool, which is designed to help illustrate areas identified for future growth based on the County's land-use planning framework.

Tinker Mountain Tower Site
The Board will consider an amendment to the agreement for the Tinker Mountain tower site.

Eagle Rock Property Cleanup
The Board will discuss the cleanup of the Eagle Rock property.

Zoning Ordinance Amendment
The Board will consider an amendment to update regulations concerning the allowed contiguous number of single-family attached dwellings.

Zero-Based Budgeting
Board members will discuss zero-based budgeting.

The agenda also includes appointments to several regional and County boards and committees, including the Economic Development Authority, Greenway Committee, Planning Commission, Western Virginia EMS Council and Roanoke Valley Transportation Planning Organization.

6:00 p.m. Public Hearings

Dal-Nita Hills Waterline Project
The Board will hold a public hearing on a Western Virginia Water Authority commission permit request for approximately 3,800 feet of waterline along Etzler Drive and Victoria Road. The project is intended to loop two existing water lines and provide more consistent water pressure and service within the existing system. The project previously advanced from the Planning Commission to the Board for consideration.

Solar Energy Facility Text Amendments
The Board will consider proposed changes to the County Code governing solar energy facilities. The amendments address definitions, accessory solar facilities, the permissibility of different types of solar facilities in zoning districts, and related provisions.

Citizen Comments

There will be two opportunities for citizen comments during the meeting. The first is limited to agenda items and occurs during the afternoon session. A second general citizen comment period will take place later in the meeting.

Residents who cannot attend in person may watch the meeting through the County's livestream or listen by telephone. Please note that citizens cannot provide public comments through the livestream.
